Tattoo cover-ups in Brussels
An old tattoo can be covered when the design is built around it. At GF Tattoo Studio in Uccle, cover-ups are Gabriel Fernandes’s speciality: a free assessment, a tailored plan and realism to turn what you want to forget into a piece you’ll be proud of.

See your cover-up before you decide
Our online studio turns a photo of your current tattoo into creative simulations, right on your skin.
Free · under 2 minutes · a creative simulation; the artist assesses what’s actually possible.
- Send a photo of your tattoo
- Pick the theme and style
- Get before / after simulations
- A GF artist assesses real feasibility
Simulator images are AI-generated simulations and do not guarantee the result. Feasibility depends on pigmentation, size, placement and your skin; it is decided by the tattoo artist.
Cover-up
What is a cover-up?
A cover-up means tattooing a new design over an existing tattoo so the old one no longer shows. It isn’t just “going over it in black”: the new design uses dark areas, textures and contrast to absorb the old lines.
That’s why a good cover-up is decided case by case, based on the density of the existing ink, its size, its placement and your skin.
Our three-step method
- Specialist consultation: a technical analysis of your current tattoo (colour, saturation, healing, size).
- Strategic planning: a tailored plan covering placement, the size of the new piece and the estimated number of sessions.
- Style and design: a design that feels like you and is built to genuinely cover the old one.
Which tattoos can be covered?
Tribals, names, lettering, faded colour pieces, botched tattoos or ones that have aged badly: every example on this page is a real cover-up done in the studio.
Feasibility depends on each case. A very dark or very large tattoo may need a bigger piece or a higher-contrast style. We’ll tell you honestly at the consultation.
How many sessions does it take?
It depends on size and complexity. A large cover-up often takes several sessions; one of our clients describes on Google his cover-up done in three sessions. The artist gives you an estimate at the free consultation.
